Collectornuts Bethel Church Cemetery

Clinton Twp, Vinton Co. OH
(halfway between Dundas & Hamden
west side of the road next to Hwy 93)

 Bethel Church Cemetery

The cemetery is fenced and has an entrance on the side facing the church.  The entrance has a metal archway but no name.  The gate was closed but not locked. The Downey Reed plot is in about the middle of the cemetery on the west side, near the banks of the Little Raccoon Creek.  Several of the stones have a “head” at the top and the writing on the stones faces the creek.  A tree has fallen next to the plot so it’s very hard to get in front of the stones to read them.  I had to break off many branches to photograph the stones, but the tree was too large to move completely away from the Reed plot.  Many of the tombstones in this cemetery were not legible, and quite a few have been broken or are laying on the ground.  I dug up one stone that was nearly covered with dirt and grass, and leaned it against a fence around one family plot.
