Eliza Mead Obituary

HAYMAKER - Near Leanna, Neosho County, Kansas, Nov 14th 1891, Mrs. Eliza M. Haymaker, aged 69 years

The deceased was born at Solon, Courtland county, New York, and became a Christian at 12 years of age, united with the M.E. church.  Came to Iowa in 1856 and was married to Allen Haymaker 1858 and they moved to Kansas in 1869.  In her marriage she became step-mother to four children whom she trained up with true motherly fidelity.  Also two sons were born and have grown to manhood in this county.  Mr. Frank Haymaker, of near Leanna, and Fred Haymaker, the Wells Fargo Express agent in this city.  Mrs. Haymaker's life was not an eventful one, but was marked by the beauty of christian graces.  The funeral services were held at the church in Leanna by the Rev J.H. Price, on Sunday afternoon, a large congregation being present.  The discourse was founded upon Job 14:14.
