These pages contain various Mead family photos, representing descendants of William Mead (c. 1592 - 1663), the immigrant ancestor of the Greenwich, CT Mead family.  Click on an image to see the full-sized picture.


Rachel R. Mead (1785-1868)
is my great-great-great grandmother.  
She was born in Greenwich, CT, 
daughter of Jasper Mead (1760-1847).  
Rachel was married to Abraham Mead (1783-1845).
This old tintype was rediscovered by my sister, Barbara,
in my mother's garage while we were cleaning out our mother's house.

 
Eliza Mead (1822 - 1891) is my great-great-grandmother.  
She was born in Solon, Cortland Co, NY where she was a school teacher.  In about 1856, at age 34, she moved to Jones Co. Iowa with her widowed mother, Rachel R. Mead (above) and a sister, Harriet.  She married widower Allen Haymaker in 1858, and became step-mother to four children.  Allen and Eliza Haymaker had two sons, including my great-grandfather, Frank Haymaker.
